Our Prenatal Program aims to keep both mom-to-be and your baby healthy throughout your pregnancy and after your baby is born. ICH is focused on providing the best prenatal care possible to you and celebrating the birth of your baby. Through grant-funded programs and in-kind donations, we are able to provide expecting mothers with essential baby products including: car seats, layettes, clothing, diapers, blankets, and much more.

Centers for Disease Control (CDC)

CDC research shows about 1 in 8 women with a recent live birth, experience symptoms of postpartum depression.

Symptoms Include:

  • Crying more often than usual 
  • Feelings of anger 
  • Withdrawing from loved ones 
  • Feeling numb or disconnected from your baby 
  • Worrying that you will hurt the baby
  • Feeling guilty about not being a good mom or doubting your ability to care for the baby

ICH

Pregnancy may make women more prone to periodontal (gum) disease and cavities. Oral health may be considered an important part of prenatal care, given that poor oral health during pregnancy can lead to poor health outcomes for the mother and baby.

Dr. Randall Craig, MD, M.S.P.C.

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Randall Craig has been a physician with ICH since October 2010 and was promoted to Chief Medical Officer in July 2016. Dr. Craig attended Oklahoma Medical School and received Family Medicine training in the Air Force. He later performed graduate work at Stephen F. Austin University and UC Health. After practicing Family Medicine in the Air Force, he practiced in several locations and then worked in Emergency Medicine for a number of years. Before coming to Inner City Health (ICH), he did disability exams for veterans and worked with Workman's Comp patients. Dr. Craig came to ICH because of the vision to provide quality medical care to the underserved in such a way as to preserve the dignity of the patients we serve. Coming to ICH also allowed him to work closely with good-quality people who share this vision.

Carla Giacomazzi, FNP-C

Nurse Practitioner, Prenatal, GYN, and Diabetic Coordinator

Carla received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Spanish from the University of Denver. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado, where she continued her education to earn her Master of Science in Nursing. Carla is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to working at Inner City Health (ICH), Carla worked at Rose Medical Center on the Medical-Oncology floor as a nurse for ten years. Carla was drawn to ICH by the prospect of having a more direct impact on patients' lives. "I have found great joy and fulfillment in helping them through education and support to improve their health and that of their families."

Deborah Herold, FNP-C

Family Nurse Practitioner

Deborah has had the joy of serving as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Inner City Health (ICH) since 2019. Since her early college days, Deborah has felt that her life's work is to serve the underserved, and this has provided the foundation for a fulfilling, challenging, and joy-filled career in health care. Her prior medical experience includes working in public health across the Denver Metro Area and traveling for medical missions to Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, and Bolivia. Deborah is thrilled to be surrounded by like-minded colleagues at ICH and feels it is a great privilege to care for the group of patients who consider her their primary care physician. In non-medical life moments, you can find Deborah in her garden affectionately naming insects and flowers alike and (constantly) refilling her many bird feeders!

Stacy has been serving as a Nurse Practitioner at Inner City Health (ICH) since 2018. Her education includes a BA in Biology from Wheaton College (2007), an MA in Bioethics from Trinity International University (2014), an MSN from Rush University (2014), and a post-master's FNP from the University of Cincinnati (2018). She speaks English and Spanish. Her role at ICH allows her the unique opportunity to promote wellness and provide quality, affordable healthcare through her faith and love of Jesus Christ.

Lauren Thayer, FNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner

Lauren Thayer is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her nursing education at Vanderbilt University, graduating with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2017. She initially began her career with Inner City Health (ICH) in 2018 at the Denver Clinic, then later transitioned to the Wheat Ridge Clinic in 2019. Lauren temporarily left ICH in the summer of 2020 and moved to Chicago to work the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. While in Chicago, Lauren developed a specific interest in addiction medicine and was able to complete further training on medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which combines medication and behavioral therapies to care for those battling opioid addiction. She returned to ICH in 2022 and practices at the Wheat Ridge location. Lauren was drawn to ICH due to her fundamental belief that everyone should have access to quality healthcare. She hopes to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.
